Dr. Alissa Brown graduated from Texas A & M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003.
Prior to attending veterinary school, she received a Bachelor of Science from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. Dr. Brown joined our team at Brodie Animal Hospital in December of 2005. She has enjoyed cultivating long term relationships with clients and patients over the past 15 years!
Prior to living in Texas, she and her family moved a lot as her father was in the military. She has lived in 5 different states and in Germany. She spent the most time in Myrtle Beach, SC, and considered that home. Dr. Brown met her husband in college, he is from Austin, which drew her back to our great city. Dr. Brown and her husband have two lovely children who keep her busy with their variety of interests- gaming, hiking, reading, art, tennis, and karate. Both children are close to obtaining their blackbelt in kickboxing. The rest of her family includes two dogs- a Boxer named Eva and a Havachon named Rue. Eva is about 9 years old, she was adopted from Austin Boxer Rescue in 2016, and is the sweetest dog! Rue joined the family when she was 8 weeks old in the Fall of 2020. She is small in size but large in personality!
Dr. Brown's special interests at work include senior pet care, internal medicine, surgery, and dentistry. She really enjoys the wide variety of work that she can do in veterinary medicine.
In her free time, Dr. Brown enjoys running, gardening, reading, hiking, cooking, and spending time with her family. Dr. Brown likes to travel and explore new places too!
